I've ridden quads for a few years now but have recently purchased a dirt bike. I know that some trails such as Capital Forest are only open seasonal but where are some trails in western WA that are open to dirt bikes year round other than Tahuya? I have an XR200 and and learning the skills of two wheels rather quickly. My boyfriend and I have only ridden the Lewis ORV pits and the forest roads up at Capital and we're looking for new places and possibly new people to hang out with. I know that there are some trail riding clubs around here that do work parties and such for trail maintenance and fundraiser type activities. Was wondering who would be the best to talk to about volunteering and helping out with these types of things?

Brandi, you can attend one of our club meetings at The Poodle Dog restaurant in Fife on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month. I will also be posting our work parties on this site, anyone can come to our work parties. As for what is open at this time of year....For beginners, tayuha (Belfair) is your best bet, Olympia opens May 1st, and the Trails in the Cascades will open when they are a little dryer.

Thank you for getting back to me. What time are your meetings? I work 24 hour shifts and they rotate throughout the week so I wouldn't be able to make all of them. Thanks for the suggestions on trails. I've heard a lot about Tahuya and can't wait to go check it out.

Our meetings start at 7PM. The next meeting is May 4th. You don't have to make them all. If your not a member, or an associate member, then you are just a guest, and welcome to show up to any of our meetings.
